Traffic commuters traveling between Hyderabad and Warangal are set to face major inconvenience as the Uppal–Warangal route will remain closed for nearly three months due to ongoing road expansion and infrastructure development works.
Authorities have announced temporary traffic diversions to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and to avoid severe congestion on the affected stretch. Daily commuters, private employees, students, and transport operators are advised to plan their journeys in advance and follow the designated alternative routes.
Alternative Routes Suggested by Traffic Police:
- Hyderabad to Warangal via Ghatkesar – Bibinagar – Jangaon
- LB Nagar – Hayathnagar – Yadadri – Jangaon Route
- ORR Exit Routes for Heavy Vehicles
- Service Roads and Internal Roads for Local Traffic
Traffic officials stated that heavy vehicles may face restrictions during peak hours. Motorists are requested to cooperate with police personnel and obey diversion signboards placed along the highway.
Officials also clarified that the temporary closure is aimed at speeding up highway modernization works and improving future traffic connectivity between Hyderabad and Warangal.
